Paint a rainbow ...they said !

Yes, for all of you who have waited so long, and with patience... here is the second 12" of My Bloody Valentine.

I must now admit that I was a little too much negative in my last note about the band. Caus as I was listening to this piece of vinyle while ripping it, I surprised myself thinking :"whoo!, in fact, what a good record it is!".
So I must apologize, I was wrong and it's obiously in retrospect a good example of what the noisy 80's have given us. (I was drunk, wasn't I ?)
So I will post in some days another similar sounds, like Talulah gosh, or some C86 comps, to quote few of us.

Sunny Sundae Smile 12" (February 1987)
UK Lazy LAZY04T

A1. Sunny Sundae Smile
B1. Sylvie's Head
B2. Paint A Rainbow
B3. Kiss The Eclipse

Only 2000 copies of the 12" were made.

The french never sounded so good !

French garage 1983-1987 !!

Because there is not so much french music on this community, I told myself : go baby, go ! share your collection.
In fact, it's my brother's one, but as he used to say : never forget rock'nroll. So do I.

1) to begin my selection, I choose :

The Fixed Up, from le Havre. They were one of the best rock'n'roll band of France in the mid 80's. We could even called em the french Sunnyboys as they recorded a big part of their discography in Australia, with the cream of the productors at that time. Their sound is also as good as the Sunnys.
Here are their two first 7 inches on Sonics Records: Take a look at me/You can count me in.

2) "Best of" compilation, a cool selection from a Nantes label, with combos from Nantes, Nice and Paris. Coronados, Flamingos, l'Orchidée... Yes, one or two bands are too much jazzy and should have been avoid, but this comp is introducing a rare band : The Scurs; and just for that, it's a gaz !!!

3) The superb 7" of the Sluggard Kings, from Grenoble.

4) The sole 7" from the Scuba Drivers, from Perigueux.

5) The 7" of the Real cool killers, from Clermont-Ferrand.

See the french discography site, where you can find all the infos on line-ups and track listings.

You made me realise...

That I haven't posted yet the My Bloody Valentine records I promess.

So here it goes :

- The new record by... 12" (Kaleidsocope) 1986

- Ecstasy and wine lp (Lazy) 1989

- You made me realise 12" (Creation) 1988

I think these ones are the best of what the band had produced, except the following Isn't anything and Loveless. But you have here with the "You made me realise" 12 " some of the prettiest song of "Isn't anything", and I suppose you already know "Loveless", their last cult album.

I made the choice to not post the "Sunny sundae smile 12"(Kaleidoscope) 1987, which is not to me the best thing to keep from the band. (too noisy, too young), in regard as what they made after.
But if you're interested, ... tell me.
and go see the infos on the To here knows web cool site dedicated to the band.

Enjoy !
