Never trust a Tremeloes !

I guess I had to change this CD for another one, because I didn't love anyway this kind of variety pop. (...)
...Years have passed, and I always kept a bad idea of the band... until I felt on a precious blog last week, presenting a 1967 album (south american pressing !) of the band : "Rick, Chip, Alan Dave". Waouh !
The author's praise of the band was so sincere that I

But It was so different with what I had listen to before, and I asked myself if it was the same band.
After some researchs, it appears that yes, it was, and that the band was playing for so many times !
It was also them who were choosen by Decca instead of the Beatles in 1962 ! But it seems that the "Greatest hits" I bought some years ago had compiled their worst rock anthems. Whoup ! their lps were much better should I think.

So, here is Running out, from "Rick, Chip, Alan Dave" :
and don't forget to listen to May morning, and the rest of the discography of this amazing band.
And... Never trust a (cheap) Tremeloes greatest hits !

At last, I put my hands on a vinyl edition of this classic. (Even if it's a reissue with barre code !) (...)
I already wrote about this lp on a previous note (see link above), but enjoy a track from this. This is so bluesfull :

The show of Larry Williams & Johnny (Guitar) Watson

Featuring Johnny Guitar Watson
with the Stormsville Shakers
(Decca LK4691, 1965)
Produced by Mike Vernon
Engineer : Bill Price
Like many R'n'Blues fans, I actually had the chance to put my hands on the CD reissue of this wild live performance back in the mid eightties.
This is without doubt one of the coolest R'n'blues live lp to came out in the sixties.
Two stars with great voice and superb guitar playing !
For a cool retrospective bio of Larry Williams, talking about the origin of this show, see Surfinbird blog at : http://surfinbird.centerblog.net
And here are the original notes : (taken from the CD reissue, Edsel 1984)

NB : "The featured vocalist on "Looking back" and "Two hours past mignight" is Johnny Watson; both Larry and Johhny are featured on "Sweet little baby", "trustin me" and "For your love". "Stormville groove" features Johnny and Larry on electric piano.

Pictures of Yan Tregger

Yan Tregger is known by afficionados for movie soundtracks, and not Blockbusters, believe me.
Last week I tried to listen to an horror movie soundtrack from this guy : ("Bloodnight", 1982), and I rapidely deleted it after dowloading, because of its lack of interest.
But this one is not made of this shape. Rather an imaginary movie soundtrack than a real one, this is (and after Groovecollector.com) :
